When it comes to looking your best, it can seem like a daunting task, especially if you have a hectic schedule full of events and activities that you have to keep on top of. With summer just around the corner and the kids out of school soon, you might be wondering just how you can keep looking in top condition while having fun with the family in those long, warm summer days to come. That’s why we’ve put together this easy list of beauty tips for 2019 so you can quit worrying and get down to enjoying life.

Lightening Hair – The Natural Way!

When summer comes around you might experience the urge to have a lighter look in terms of clothes, hair and makeup. Why not? After the long winter months and heavier, darker looks in terms of hair and makeup, it’s great to lighten it up and go with something a bit brighter. Looking to lighten your hair? Instead of using harsh bleaches or spending tons of money at the salon, why not use the old natural trick of spraying your hair with diluted lemon juice? Just squeeze some lemons into a spray bottle, dilute with a bit of water and spray on those spots you want to lighten before spending an hour or so in the sun to let it work its magic. Use it a couple of times a week followed by a good conditioner to avoid dryness.

Keep Skin Hydrated

On top of keeping your hair hydrated you will want to keep your skin quenched as well – especially if you’re getting a lot of sun exposure. Make sure to use a good sunscreen with at least SPF 25 and apply it liberally to all exposed skin to moisturise as well as protect against dryness, sunburn and premature aging due to sun damage. Also, make sure to apply a good face moisturiser at night as the dryness in the summer heat can cause issues with dry skin and other associated problems.

Summer Makeup Looks

Lighter days kind of go hand in hand with lighter looks, like with your hair. Going with light makeup will help bring all your summer looks together – whether you’re heading out on a road trip, to the beach or for a casual summer barbecue with friends. Start with a good SPF based moisturiser or foundation and then keep the eye makeup light and breezy (think only mascara and a teeny bit of eyeliner). Add a bit of blush or bronzer to your cheeks to give your face a light, sun-kissed glow without any of the sun damage.

With so many great beauty tips out there to make this summer seamless and fun without needing to worry too much about your everyday look, hopefully these ideas will get your creative juices flowing to come up with a style that will suit your summer – from sunup to sundown.
