Three natural skin-savers
No need for smelly lotions, chemically-enhanced ingredients, and overly expensive night creams. With a few simple kitchen items you can concoct your own combination for a beautiful complexion.
Coffee grounds
A handful of leftover, still moist coffee grounds is the perfect exfoliant – for your face or full body. The caffeine tightens and firms pores, while the grounds slough off dead skin cells.
Fruit peels
Scrape off the inner peel of a banana for a quick moisturizer, use the pith of an citrus for an astringent, and try pineapple for brightened skin.
The stove and a pot
Steam your face weekly to open pores, increase circulation and remove toxins. Bring water to a boil in a pot, let simmer 5-10 minutes, then place on a trivet on the kitchen countertop. Place a towel over your head, tenting it overtop of the pot, letting steam directly for about 4 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
