Kuwaiti Traditional Tea

Kuwaiti traditional tea offers a new dimension to your traditional blacks and greens. It’s a deliciously flavourful brewed hot beverage, with variations through families and generations. This traditional version combines the distinct taste of saffron, the prominence of cardamom, and a small sampling of sweetness.

3 cups water
4 whole cardamom pods, broken
2 pinches saffron powder
3 black tea bags
1-2 teaspoons sugar

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the water, saffron and cardamom over medium heat. Cover, bring to a boil, then add tea bags. Let tea steep for one to two minutes, based on your tastes for strength.

Strain into two cups, sweetening with sugar if desired.

Kuwaiti tea is just one of many beverages that can aid one’s health. For example, there are several benefits of Senna Tea. It is most commonly used for weight loss and detoxification, though there are other advantages as well. This tea has absolutely no artificial additives; it assists with gastrointestinal function, and even the bags are bleach free. Tea, in general, has the potential to provide a natural solution to a myriad of minor to moderate health problems with essentially no negative side-effects. So make sure to sample new varieties of tea whenever you have the chance.
