Fall make-up trends

Looking good this fall is easy, with three basic make-up fixes that will fill-out your fall style. Think in pretty purples, neutral nudes and bold blues to balance out your style these next few months.

Purple

Plum lips are the way to go, bringing the deep hue on your perfect pucker while paring down your eyes and cheeks. If you have golden, olive or dark skin, opt for a blue-based plum. If you’re on the fairer side, stick to those with underlying pink tones, instead.

If your lips are full, try strong, opaque colour. If they are on the thinner side, choose a sheer plum.

With dark shades, line your lips first, with the same colour, then fill in with a brush.

We like to keep it simple with Avon’s Color Trend Lip Duo Lipstick & Lip Gloss.

Nude

Natural-looking nudes aren’t completely bare, but can easily result in a washed out look. Choose light shades with shine, complemented by browns for definition. Classic nudes, such as peach, champagne, terra cotta and pink are the way to go – along with a strong mascara to finish it off.

You can’t go wrong with the silky finish of Bobbi Brown Lip Color.

Blue

Blue adds drama – perfect for any night out. To avoid looking like you stepped out of the late eighties, opt for two or three different shades of blue, and ensure you use concealer to avoid accentuating under-eye circles.

Make it a little more dramatic with white shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes, and always finish with black mascara. Keep the lips and cheeks simple to finish off the look. We love the pronounced colour of Sephora Brand Colorful Mono Eyeshadow.
