The new Volkswagen Golf Wagon

The new 2010 Volkswagen Golf wagon is a much-needed update from the popular Jetta Wagon TDI, bringing back a popularity in wagons, which are predicted to go-full speed ahead. The new Golf wagon is about 30cm larger than their classic hatchback, which allows for a generous cargo area that lets you cram in everything you need. You can also fold the seats down, giving you about 1,900 litres of space. And if that’s not enough, luggage racks are included, letting you top the car with even more.

According to Volkswagon, they’ve updated some basic features, including a plastic-treated windshield, newly developed fans and air vents, and thicker side windows, all of which make this the quietest Golf ever. It also includes the largest sunroof ever developed.

Redesign also comes in the form of a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, which keeps it quiet, yet powerful. VW claims that you can go 1,190 kilometres from a full tank of diesel, making long trips that much easier.

The specs:

Base price range: $22,675 – $31,875
Type of vehicle: FWD compact wagon
Engine: 2.5L, 20-valve DOHC I-5 (optional 2.0L, 16-valve SOHC I-4 turbodiesel)
Power/Torque: 170 hp/177 lb.-ft. (140 hp/236 lb.-ft.)
Transmission: Five-speed manual (optional six-speed auto; TDI: Six-speed manual, six-speed dual-clutch)
0-100 km/h (est.): 8.5 seconds
Fuel consumption (city/hwy.): 10.4/7.0 L/100 km

And then finish it off with these Volkswagen Black Logo Tire Valve Caps. We think they’re pretty cool.
